Visit from cousin stephy

This weekend we've enjoyed a long weekend and a visit from Nat and Stephy. Louie had a great weekend playing with his cousin with lots of swimming and playing. 

We went to the beach, the lagoon, and the playground and Louie and Steph had a great time. 

Louie also learnt some valuable lessons about getting between a girl and what she wants and has the bumps on his head to prove it!!

(We won't talk about Louie's accidents in the shell and the bath haha)

After 10 days in Brisbane and Brunny heads we are back in Mackay and have spent the day cleaning and unpacking before Jaques goes back to work.

It was so nice spending time with friends and family and really made us realise what we were missing and decided to make the move back to brissy earl '14.

Louie loves to travel - this week we are in Brissy seeing friends and family... And of course to see Amber and Smithy get married.

Me and Lou are chillin in the reef lounge waiting for you to finish work. He's been asleep for an hour or so and seems to be happy staying down. 

We've been to the wildlife sanctuary this morning and Lou saw a cassowary, a crocodile, koalas, a wombat, some kangaroos, a python, a blue tongue lizard and a turtle. It was a bit average but I think Lou liked it. I think he'll be a vet or the next Steve Irwin.

Today is Monday and you are back at work :-(... Louie tried Biltong today for the first time and loves it. He is going to be a big South African rugby player.

Dom Hesp came up for the weekend, which was awesome and so nice to see her. We went to the Surf Life Saving club and BBQed all weekend, it was also Johns birthday so we all celebrated that with pizza and awesome champers.! It was awesome ...

Was happening???!! It's 6pm and the sun is setting over Sunset Bay and its beautiful! I'm up at your mums and just had a fun bath with Lou and he is just going down now...


Your in Brissy, probably just about to head to the Irish and British Lions vs Wallabies match!! Thanks for all your awesome picture updates today... Hahahaha they have been hilarious!


We got back from our trip up to Townsville to see the Millers! It was so good to hang out with Nat and Luke and see the cousins play together. Stephie is so gorgeous and Louie and her are bestest friends :P...


Lou's Townsville adventure included Aquarium, swimming lessons, crawling, sweat shop and laughing at Uncle Luke... Our Townsville adventure included Louie screaming in the car, settlers, wine, jaffels at sweat shop and laughing at Luke :P



All in all was an awesome end to the week, I only wish we could have come and played in Brissy with you... Ah well, maybe at the next tour of the Irish and British Lions :P

Lou is just chillin' and making weird noises. I stopped before and asked him what he was babbling about and he laughed which was funny and msde me laugh.

Louie met two Louie dogs today. This is the second one. A ten week old Pomeranian called ollie. 

He also spent some nudie time on the kitchen floor. 

And he got to hang out with grandma and grandpa while I mowed the lawn. 

It was a good day.

Sorry about the delay.  I've been blogless for a bit but I'm back.

Just chilling in the coffee shop drinking (surprise) a coffee and tapping away on my laptop.

I had a client meeting this morning and another two this afternoon so I'm getting coffeed up so I can make it through.

Hope Louie is being good - he was awesome this morning, all smiles and laughter.

Like I said this morning, I think you're amazing and achieve more in a day than most people!  You look after super hectic Louie, run a business in three (or is it four) places, and do it all with perfect eyebrows.

Can't wait to see you two at lunchtime.

Not sure if your getting my blog posts, but ah well. ;-).

Louie is in the cot crying, he is not happy today and has had a total of 10 minutes sleep since 6:00am this morning, it is now 3:00pm and my hair is falling out :-(. Mia is just about to come around to get her makeup done for her maternity shoot, so that'll be a nice break in the day.

Thanks for an awesome long weekend, it is so nice to have a bigger break. It would have been great to have gone back to Narrabri to see pop and all the kids, but stayed here instead... Which was totally my fault as I booked a wedding in, sorry babe.

Anyways, I had a good weekend with you here anyways. It was nice to get stuff done around the house - baby proofing, getting the boat fixed, cooking etc... Also was nice to get some Louie free time and duck off to the movies... The Great Gatsby is freaking awesome!!! LOVED ittttt !!!

Anyways I better get going and look after our crying baby (hopefully he sleeps while I work) doubtful so it will be HECTIC!

Thanks for the awesome weekend and doing the 'mock wedding' photoshoot with me.... Can't wait to see what the pictures will come out like and hopefully one of the images will make the cover of the magazine. ;-) ... Hahaha

So you won't believe it?!!... Louie is asleep in the car, again!! That's why I have 5 minutes to write you this. So random, that's twice now in a week. Lou turned 1/2 a year old yesterday, he is growing up so fast and literally before my eyes. I think we need to celebrate his half birthday because I think that the hardest parts (hopefully) are behind us. He is definantly getting easier :-D

Did you have a good weekend hanging out with Lowery? It was so good having him up and can't wait till our next lot of visitors. Anywho... I better go, I'm running out of phone battery. Here is a picture from our photoshoot....looking so suave Mr Mackintosh.

Also - I'm sorry for having a lil fight with you over the weekend, I know that we will work all those lil things out. Louie is asleep in the car... What the eff. Like I am not even joking, this is so weird. I was heading home and as normal he was crying and then all of a sudden stopped.... and I turned around and he was sleeping.... Wha?!?!?

I was to nervous to go home and wake him so I kept just driving around and now parked at the beach waiting for him to wake.... And they say parenting is hard.. Pftt *rolling eyes* hahaha.

Jaques is in the kitchen cooking up a storm with the Thermomix, for dinner... :-) Lou has just gone down for the night and hopefully will stay asleep :-)

Had an awesome week in Mackay and a pretty chillaxed weekend. I worked on Saturday and we had a 'horror' movie and Ben and Jerry's night on Saturday night. Hahaha not very horror because all we watched was the Addams Family.. but it was awesome, Mortisha Addams is such a babe. We are looking forward to Lowery visiting this weekend and our photo shoot on Sunday, although ill have purple hair for it so not sure how it'll go!

Louie is growing up so quick... Literally before my eyes and changes every day. He is so close to crawling and is such a happy and active baby. We are going to swim class this week and hopefully play group and pcyc with Louie's new friend Rosie.

We had dinner and a Bon Fire on the beach last night with Mia and Eben. Louie loved the fire and I loved the s'mores. hahahhaha....

Lou and I are off to swimming class tomorrow. Hopefully his first swimming lesson is a little more succesful then his 'swimming lessons' in the bath. haha

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for coming to Brissie with me and thanks for putting up with my work life at the moment which is a bit hectic.

The good thing about it is it's shown me where I want to be in five years and that means I can work to get there.

I want to be down south, where the action is, but living on a little farm in the country and commuting to chambers in the city to work as a barrister.  It will be hard to carve out a career but I think it will be worthwhile.

I want to be married to a beautiful purple haired girl and have an awesome little dude running around and pulling the tail of the goat and fishing crayfish out of the dam.

I want to have a bulldog with a grumpy face just like Louie's when he's got his grump on, and I want to have a key bowl where I never forget to put the keys!

I want to cook you pancakes each morning on a stove which runs on firewood and have a big old cast iron kettle which is always warm for tea and coffee.

I want to get around in jeans and shorts unless I'm in court or with a client and draft long submissions about the construction of contracts on my laptop while simultaneously abusing some poor schmuck of a solicitor.

Anyway, I love you both!  Even though Louie makes a racket!

It is so great being back in Brissy for a couple of days. Lou and I went to GOMA, Southbank and lunch with LoMack today while Jaques was in court lawyering it up big city style. Being at court, Jaques has been suited up which is super hot and he looks dashing (hopefully Louis gives us some alone time) hahaha ;-)

Was so great seeing Jenny, Matt and Jack as well as Samuel and Julia yesterday. Hopefully we can catch up with Christine and other friends over the next couple of days as well. :-)

Jaques is ordering Chinese takeout at the moment so we can eat up in our Hotel room and Lou is just kicking and squealing happily in the bed.

Tomorrow Lou and I might go watch Jaques battle it out in the courts (after I go Cosmetics shopping, Kit and Mecca style) .... And hopefully I get to catch up with Em or Jen Bush for lunch. It is great having a few days off work from the business, although there are a bunch of work emails piling up. Ekkk. Busy busy....Ah well :-)

Hope your walk with Lou is going well 😜 I am still in bed having a rest. Last night was a pretty good one with Louie only waking to feed 3 times, plus he has slept in to 6am (which is awesome) !!

Remember how you skydived yesterday!?! Haha it looked awesome and hope you loved it!

I have been reading this awesome article on attachment parenting and raising a high needs child, which is pretty interesting. They wrote that the mother needs to write a list of things that are essential (sleep,shower, meals etc) and that I need to try and put those things first (otherwise i will be hopeless for Lou)... I guess it's kinda like how the air hostess tells you to fit your own oxygen mask before the infants, you can not do much if you are passing out from lack of oxygen to the brain. Do you think I can add Louie free time to the list, as something essential?! 😜

Anywayssss, I should go so I can try and dry/clean the wet patch -left by qLou- in the hotels bed. 😬..

Darling Louie,

You are 5 months old tomorrow and what a delightful 5 months it has been. There has been smiles, laughs, cry's, sleepless nights and MANY walks around the block.

Today we both slept in the king bed all afternoon and when I woke you stayed sleeping for another hour or so while I just lay there contemplating the mass amounts of work I had to do, but I did not want to move incase I woke you.

We are all off to Airlie Beach over the weekend and then onto the Wintermoon festival. I know your Dad is excited/scared about jumping out of the plan for his Sky Dive... I can't wait to take you to Wintermoon Festival and listen to some music, I am sure you are going to love all the activity and people.

I hope you slept well.  On our walk this morning, I introduced Louie to the black keys and he loved them.  I just started playing some music in my pocket so he and I could hear it.  It makes walking him a bit more interesting.

Also, the sunrise down at main beach was amazing this morning.
